On his blog, Sadagopan writes, I think

(1) clarity of idea,
(2) robust business model,
(3) flawless execution,
(4) customer and market focus,
(5) constantly reprioritizing and realigning ,
(6) transparency,
(7) clear thinking,
(8) quick decision making,
(9) retaining the risk propensity,
(10) growth focus,
(11) full involvement and
(12) a bias for action amongst the founders and key employees all would make the difference between winners and wannabe’s.

It is quite a comprehensive list. However I wonder if there are any entrepreneurs who do not know about the above. Every body does. Then there is something else which helps to make the distinction.

The one thing which Sadagopan can include in that list, is probably the accuracy of self evaluation. Each of the topics is quite abstract per se, there is no way to quantitatively find out a value and get a score, so the greater one’s accuracy of evaluating your position on each of these parameters, the better you adapt to the business environment.
