In case you ever have the need to start programming in ASP. NET and AJAX .NET, the best place in the world to start (assuming no experience of working in .NET) would be to run to ASP .NET Quick Start by Microsoft. It takes 3-4 hours at the most to learn everything you would ever need to know about developing web sites in ASP .NET.

After you’ve finished those, go here and take a look at these components. Once you are done with this, call up family and friends, and edit your resume, to tell everybody that you are a ASP .NET developer. (Do keep msdn open, in case someone really asks you to create something)

Learning AJAX after this, is way too easy. Infact there is nothing to learn, just download the control toolkit, and spend an hour going through the components (here). And you’re done.
