YouTube became the $1.6 billion behemoth, due to it’s widgets. In these days of Web 2.0, the fastest way to gain advertising and visitors is to start creating cool looking widgets of your website, which ofcourse others can put up on their website. The greater the number of distribution channels you have, the more the chances that your advertising would work.
So, Netvibes.com, who I recently covered, have created the Universal Widget API, which you can use to change any feed into a widget. They have put up a tutorial as well.
If you are looking for hoardes of visitors, coming up to your amazing blog, do remember to go here and create a widget for yourself. Maybe I’ll one too, so let me know when it’s ready.
