Finishing schools in top colleges, to increase employability

The infamous Ministry of HRD has now decided to start finishing schools which would impart skills to the graduates while also brushing-up their knowledge of core subjects. These programs which would run for about two months, would initially be set up at NITs (Jaipur, Kurukshetra, Durgapur, Warangal, Trichy, Kozhikode, Suratkhal) and IIT’s.

The idea is make students more employable.

What kind of a student makes it to institutes like these, and is still ‘unemployable’?

Anyways, wouldn’t it be a better idea if the government just decided to make the universities better by making students work on their ‘employability’ during the four years that they were in college.

I just hope, I am not paying for these programs too. But I doubt that, because somebody would be paying for them, and if it’s the government or the institutes, it’s still me.[1]
