Hindi movie Hattrick released in both theatres and Internet

India is evolving. So are it’s movie releases.

The latest hindi flick ‘Hattrick’ was released simultaneously in theatres and on the internet. Earlier in the year Vivah had also been released on Rajshri.com.

At a time when new movie records are being created (’300′ made $70 million on the opening weekend), releasing movies on the internet might not be the best idea for movies, except for the firts few I guess. After a little while, they wouldn’t get the coverage they are getting now.

This move would surely backfire if the movie sucked. Why would somebody waste bandwidth on it and then again go to the hall and watch the movie. For it to really work, the movie should be good enough to be seen twice, which is a very difficult requirement for most movies, considering the kind of shit that rolls out every year.
