Microsoft plans to come out with a service which would be to Games as YouTube was to videos. XNA Game Studio Express which would come out by the end of the year would allow users to create their own games and upload them to community websites.

Accoring to Business Week, Microsoft had a team of 36 programmers working on it for almost 36 months. Microsoft sees the Game Studio Express as a benefit to the platform and the industry. The benefits to Xbox 360 are building community, generating content and, possibly, generating revenues. The benefit to the industry is in drafting more talent. Also it reduces the entry barriers to creating better games, as it allows you to create them at home.
