The Subhiksha chain, which has opened up stores around the country has decided to move court against the ban on its supplies by the Maharashtra State Chemists and Druggists Association (MSCDA) in Pune and Mumbai.
The issue at hand is the 10% discount on drugs offered in the stores. MSCDA has asked all distributors not to provide supplies to supplies to subhiskha and threatened to boycott anybody who did.
The company filed a complaint with the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, which asked the association members to resume supplies to which they had agreed, but subhiksha is still not getting any drugs.
Fighting a competitor is difficult, but I can bet fighting an Association would even worse. I really hope subhiksha comes out on top of all this.
