Prasad sent me an email today pointing out the new design on Eyantra. They really have changed, and for the best. Not only that, they have been running a great business as well. It’s definitely one company to watch you for.
I recently read this news about eYantra, that Bennett Coleman and Company has bought stake in the company.
EYantra is India’s first Brand Merchandise Company, and it’s list of clients include ISB, TCS, Satyam, Airtel, HCL and a lot of others you have heard about. Since starting up in 2001, the company has been growing at a CAGR of 73%. So I decided to go over to this upcoming site, and this is what I found.
If you look at the expanded image you might see that the first line on the page goes %@Language=”VBScript” codepage=”1252″.
Now this doesn’t really bother most users, as it’s quite simple to ignore it, but it is definitely a big turn off. Not that it stopped BCCL from investing in the company, but a website is an advertisement in itself, and a shoddy website is probably the best way to get rid of your clientele. More so, when such superb designs are visible on the internet these days.
A lot of Indian web site still look like they were made 10 years ago. The ones which have evolved for the better are still in a minority.
For e-commerce to really boom, for the sales figures to match the expectations, we need real eye catching, clean websites. And it is really up to the companies to clean up their act.
