Every age teaches mankind a new lesson, and the age of Web 2.0 has taught us that the consumers can get involved on the internet too.

But somehow, the Indian Web 2.0 has become synonymous with free sites using Ajax. Everybody is asking for our opinions and reviews and words.

The internet is going to come back to the transaction model, with or without using a lot of consumer input.

Entrepreneurs need to ask themselves why anybody, who values her time, would come to their site? Taking advice from the internet is almost like asking somebody on the street about where you should buy a house. So why are we trying to justify that the opinions of those on the street really matter to our so called consumers.

VC’s will fund anything. After all, they are like credit cards, if you pay your dues and interest on time, you would be paying for all those who never paid up. If a VC loses 7 million on a deal, they would make up on the next five. But what about the consumer who wasted her time on your site? What about the entrepreneur who’s now running around for a job?

When Web 2.0 will be dead. Innovation will begin again.
