In an interesting video, a Googler explains how to build scalable systems like Gmail, Orkut and Google Talk. It’s slightly long, and Google Video is slightly erratic in these parts, but it’s a great presentation to watch.

Google recently announced that they have ingrained cross domain read/write functionality via Javascript. The functionality has been added to the GData library, and it is currently available only for Google Calender.
