After contemplating for so many months, I have finally made the switch. Gyaan Sutra, is now hosted via Wordpress.
Now that it’s all done, I was thinking that what took me so long.
Some 18 months ago I had started with a hosted Blogger account on a free hosting account (the lovely 110mb.com). After a few insignificant months, I got featured on lifehacker for the first time for the Pandora Downloader. Ofcourse I put the code online for everybody to see and the smart guys at pandora fixed it in two days. But in those two days, I got over 30,000 hits.
That propelled me to move from a free hosting to a paid hosting account for the first time for my blog. I almost moved from Blogger to Wordpress then, but somehow stayed, probably because I was just a little too comfortable with Blogger already.
Over the last one and a half years, some of my posts have appeared in a number of places. I was on lifehacker again one day. Besides I’ve got loads of clients who have approached me directly through this blog. That I think has been the major achievement of the last few months. Not page views, not adsense income, real live projects to keep my startup alive. And they just seem to keep coming.
This weekend, I decided it was time to change again. This blog has always reflected the change in my real life, and now that I’m moving my company to another stage, it’s time for Gyaan Sutra to change as well.
(If you’re changing too, do check out this tutorial. And let me know if you need any help.)
