Google Chrome : Much faster rendering

I just downloaded and started using Google Chrome for the first time. Even though I find it strange that Google should come out with a browser, I have quite loved the new browser.

Though I don’t have any benchmarks to prove it, but the rendering is definitely faster that even the Safari Windows version. It might be too superior to Firefox 3 on windows, but it definitely looks faster.

Google Chrome is still only limited to Microsoft Windows XP / Vista, so I doubt I would be able to use it much yet.

By the way, has anybody tried to run it via “wine” yet? (No, not when you’re drunk, I am talking about the windows emulator) I still don’t have a browser which can cater to Linux properly. Firefox 2 and 3 fail miserably on machines running Ubuntu and I’ve heard of issues with Fedora too. Opera is still not mainstream enough, so Google Apps are not exactly supported there. IE6 on wine runs just about okay mostly, but sometimes it can blow the machine apart.

So far Chrome looks good, and I hope they will carry on the good work. The only thing I would like to ask them to add a spell checker and this :

FIREBUG

The javascript console is quite cool, but no amount of custom creations by Google or Apple can come anywhere close to the mighty Firebug, at least when it comes to web development. Though I am quite sure that the people at Google are not listening. They never do.
