The coming of the “Internets” has made communication so much easier. For all these years we have been drooling about how fast news travels from one corner to the other. Within minutes the news gets to Twitter, within 5 minutes it is on Google News, within minutes it gets to other publications, and in half an hour a hundred million bloggers have written about it.
And there was no way you didn’t hear about the doom which has descended upon us this year.
Everybody is talking about how startups might not really be affected. I don’t quite understand who is advice meant for?
I don’t see entrepreneurs around me scrambling. I see everybody standing as tall as they always have. If somebody is packing up, there is a big possibility that it’s because of issues unrelated to the financial crisis. It is a fashion statement to call this the ultimate test. But to be true, I don’t think it’s even close.
The folks at the Wall Street could have been crazy enough to run pension funds to the ground, but even the biggest financial doom has not been big enough to shatter the entrepreneurs.
When you come to think of it. If somebody left a job last year, they had left the prospect of a bright future at the organization. But now, you are only getting away from the pink slip.
The times might be bad for some people, but most of us are going to be largely unaffected. It’s time to get over the financial bust and to concentrate on keeping up with the cash flow running, because that, is really the ultimate test.
